Aggy, a 5-year old African Gray Parrot, is a prolific mimic. She will sometimes immediately repeat what she hears. She loves to watch her favorite movie, Star Wars IV - A New Hope (the first released in 1977), and speaks some dialogue along with the actors.
One day, while caring for her and her "brothers and sisters", a rose-breasted cockatoo, a canary, and 2 parakeets, I sang to them the song "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands....if you're happy and you know it, don't be afraid to show it...." When Val and Ami returned home, they emailed to let me know Aggy was singing the song I taught her but she took poetic license - Aggy's version went "If you're crappy and you know it...."
